Get to know Hayden!
How did you first get involved in OSA?
My science teacher at Primary School encouraged all the students to enter. In year 5 I did two projects and really enjoyed them.
Why do you participate?
I entered the for a new experience, to gain knowledge and extend my learning. I like to find out how things work and why things happen.
What advice would you give to other OSA entrants?
I would encourage other kids to have a go. Do your best and try your hardest. Pick a topic that really interests you so you’ll find it enjoyable. Keep persisting even if something goes wrong with what you are doing because it’s all about learning and improving what you are doing.
What is your favourite project that you have submitted?
My favourite project was the crystal investigation project I undertook in Year 5. It was my favourite because I was fortunate to do really well and I got to learn lots of new things. I was really proud that my project came 1st in South Australia and 2nd in Australia.
