Professional Learning for Science, Technology & Maths Teachers

Space for STEM 7–8 is a blended professional learning program designed for Department for Education teachers of Years 7–8 Science, Technologies and Mathematics. The program supports educators in designing engaging, curriculum-aligned STEM learning experiences that connect to South Australian space and defence industries.

Program Overview

Through collaboration with peers and industry professionals, participants will:

  • Explore research-informed STEM practices
  • Align STEM learning with the South Australian Curriculum for Public Education
  • Design, evaluate, and refine real-world STEM experiences
  • Build understanding of how STEM is applied in local industries
  • Develop strong connections with industry networks and fellow educators

Format and Duration

  • Delivery mode: Blended (2 face-to-face days + online learning)
  • Schedule: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm on face-to-face days

  • TRT funding for 3 release days (2 face-to-face + 1 site-based/online learning day)
