Experience real-world environmental science in the field!
The Earthwatch Student Challenge is a fully-funded, week-long opportunity for selected students in Years 10–12 to take part in hands-on conservation research at Calperum Station, on the Murray River in South Australia.

Successful applicants will:

  • Collaborate with scientists on climate resilience and land restoration research
  • Learn scientific fieldwork skills like vegetation surveys, small mammal trapping, and tree health assessments
  • Contribute to long-term ecological studies shaping the future of semi-arid land management
  • Live and work alongside like-minded peers in a shared, supportive environment

Eligibility:
Open to students in Years 10–12 attending government schools in SA, VIC, or the Murray-Darling Basin regions of NSW and QLD.

All expenses covered through a George Alexander Foundation fellowship, including:

  • Travel and transfers
  • Accommodation and meals
  • Insurance and equipment
