Immanuel College is honoured to be recognised as a SASTA Science Active School. Immanuel College aims to connect students with the wider scientific world to inspire lifelong learning and curiosity. Our Science staff work collaboratively to embed and improve use of digital technologies into our curriculum, equipping students with the tools to enhance engagement and develop deep analytical skills.

We are especially proud of our innovative Year 10 Discovery elective courses with a Science focus, which promote interdisciplinary learning across the sciences, humanities, and social sciences. These electives allow students to explore areas such as forensic psychology, criminology, and the legal process; to engage in wellbeing initiatives that foster social connections across generations; and to investigate the science behind thoughts, feelings, and behaviour.

A standout achievement for Immanuel College students in 2025 was winning first place in the Science and Engineering Challenge for the Adelaide South region earlier this year showcasing the enthusiasm of our students for STEM.

As a College, we support students in networking with industry professionals in a wide range of STEM fields, where they have opportunities to connect and engage with experts. Other ongoing initiatives include our Science Club and participation in the Oliphant Science Awards which encourage student-led inquiry, innovation and creativity. Our 2025 National Science Week events also provided an opportunity for students to engage with all things science this year.
